AIC 04/2021

1 General

1.1 The purpose of this Aeronautical Information Circular (“AlC”) is to inform all aircraft operators about the planned establishment of the new airport at Bintan – in the Riau Islands Province of Indonesia (“the Airport”), which is within the Singapore Flight Information Region (FIR). Information contained in this AIC has been provided by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Indonesia.

1.2 This AIC will be followed up with an Aeronautical Information Publication (“AIP”) Supplement that will provide the relevant details for aircraft operators.

2 Implementation Schedule

2.1 The construction phases of the Airport are as follows:

Phase I: Construction of runway and other airside facilities from April 2022 to December 2023;
Phase II: Construction of passenger terminal building and other landside facilities from January 2023 to December 2023;
Fully operational: June 2024.

3 Description

3.1 The planned development of the Airport facilities shall be conducted primarily to meet the needs of flight operations and airport services, based on forecasted air transport traffic growth. Upon completion of Phase I, the Airport is designed to accommodate the largest aircraft type of a B737-900ER. Upon full completion, the Airport is designed to accommodate a B777-300.

3.2 The construction of the Airport comprises maneuvering area and movement area facilities.
