1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 This AIP Supplement informs aircraft operators and pilots of the use of construction survey lasers on Taxilane R1, R2 and R3 and installation of concrete blocks within the turf area of T2 Central Apron at Singapore Changi Airport, effective from 28 October 2024, 0500UTC to 05 October 2026, 1559UTC.
2 LOCATION OF AUTOMATIC TOTAL STATION (“ATS”) TOWERS AND USAGE OF CLASS 3R LASERS
2.1 Non-frangible ATS towers (see details in the table below) for monitoring ground elevation will be temporarily erected at T2 Central Apron construction site. ATS towers will be marked and lighted at night.
| ATS Code | Coordinates | Height AGL (m) | Distance from Taxiway T centreline (m) |
|---|
| ATS1 | 012111.05 N 1035931.96 E | 4.45 | 112 |
| ATS2 | 012112.49 N 1035934.04 E | 4.45 | 70 |
| ATS3 | 012113.79 N 1035934.58 E | 4.45 | 70 |
| ATS4 | 012116.52 N 1035934.66 E | 4.45 | 100 |
2.2 Class 3R rated construction survey lasers will be used to measure taxiway pavement elevation. Pilots should avoid looking directly at the lasers and be aware of possible laser beam sightings on Taxilane R1, R2, and R3, especially in low light conditions.
2.3 As solar panels are used to power the ATS units, pilots are also advised of potential glare due to the reflection of the sun from the solar panels.
2.4 Please refer to Annex A for ATS locations and monitoring zones.
3 CONCRETE BLOCKS WITHIN TURF AREA OF T2 CENTRAL APRON
3.1 Concrete blocks will be installed and flushed with the turf area of the T2 Central Apron as monitoring points for the ATS units, as detailed in Annex B.
