SINGAPORE CHANGI AIRPORT – CLOSURE OF RUNWAY 02C/20C AND TAXIWAYS DUE TO CHANGI EAST DEVELOPMENT WORKS

1 INTRODUCTION

1.1 This AIP Supplement informs aircraft operators and pilots that Runway 02C/20C and adjacent taxiways at Singapore Changi Airport will be closed from 06 October 2022, 0000UTC to 22 March 2023, 2359UTC for Changi East Development works.

1.2 Please refer to Annex A for the location of the construction work zone. The work zone will be demarcated by barricades and supplemented with visual aids.

2 CLOSURE OF RUNWAY 02C/20C

2.1 There will be no scheduled maintenance closures and inspections on Runway 02C/20C during the closure period.

2.2 White runway closed markings will be displayed on the pavement surface at intervals along the entire length of the closed runway, except where the pavement surface is under construction. In addition, a flashing white lighted cross will be placed at each end of the closed runway. Approach and runway lighting will cease to operate.

3 CLOSURE OF TAXIWAYS

3.1 Closure of taxiways affected by the works are tabulated below.

3.2 All unserviceable areas on taxiways, which are connected to the closed runway, will be marked with yellow closed markings and demarcated by low barricades painted in alternate bands of red and white. The barricades will have omni-directional fixed red lights that will be lighted at night and in low visibility conditions.

3.3 Taxiway centreline lights leading to the closed taxiways will not be in use. In addition, taxiway centreline markings leading to the closed taxiways will be removed.

4 PRECAUTIONS

4.1 During the construction works period, pilots are to take note of the following:

  1. Presence of a large area that is under construction in the aerodrome.

  2. Emergency response and evacuation plan for operational areas outside the construction work zone will be available for any airport emergency.

5 CHANGES

5.1 Any change to the contents of this AIP Supplement will be notified through NOTAM.
